HySelect project partners GRILLO-Werke AG (Grillo) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) recently came together to address the corrosion challenges associated with SO₂ depolarized electrolysis. This collaborative event took place on 4 December 2024 at the F&E Chemie laboratory, led by Dr. Timo Ott.

The event featured an in-depth scientific exchange between Dr. Timo Ott and Dr. Sakeb Choudhury from DLR, with active participation from Dr. Ott’s research team. The discussions were focused on how electrochemical conditions influence the corrosion behavior of catalyst coatings and bipolar plates.

Subsequently, Dr. Ott’s team had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing electrochemical measurement methodologies and protocols as part of the knowledge transfer process. Both collaborators found such interaction between academic researchers and industry professionals highly beneficial and rewarding.

Special thanks to Dr. Timo Ott and his team members; Sarah Arnts, Anna Spehr, and Bernhard Warbruck for their contributions.
